Abide in I Am

The essence of the human being is a quiet, restful dimension free of thought and untouched by the circumstance of life.

Thy will be done

The notion of destiny or predetermination, when heard by the thinking mind, is interpreted as the opposite of freedom.

When what is pointed at through the use of these concepts is understood deeply in the heart, real freedom sets in.

Thy will be done.

The attitude of personal doership is all pervasive

June 7, 2020

THE ATTITUDE OF PERSONAL DOERSHIP IS ALL PERVASIVE

The belief in personal doership pervades one's entire life experience.

The word "I", when stemming from a life experience pervaded with the attitude of personal doership is denoting a very different psychological entity than the entity denoted by the same word "I" which stems from a life experience devoid of the attitude of personal doership.

The word "I" and it's use, is in and of itself, not unanimously synonymous with separation or in contradiction to a realization of non-duality.

Oneness

June 7, 2020
January 11, 2020

Next time you look at a tree, allow your perspective to expand to see it in the context of the garden.

This can happen with any objects perceived throughout the day, this shift helps us see the bigger picture.

As the gaze softens allow it to open wider, notice that silent awareness of any vista can be there independent of a labelling narrative, just allow effortless seeing to happen, it always is anyway.

You might just find that effortlessly, at times, the vista includes in it the body and the thoughts and emotions as objects all contained within.

Everything is just happening. Life is a big undivided happening. This is the bigger picture of oneness.

Spiritual awakening and the neuroplasticity of the brain

June 7, 2020
January 9, 2020

What is referred to as a spiritual awakening where experientially, the sense of Self bursts forth and the qualitative nature of the life experience changes radically such that it's all directly apperceived to be an spontaneous arising in Consciousness, with no separate subject/ object relationship and a Knowing that what "I Am" is that Consciousness and not the body or the thinking, all happens thanks to the information-receptive nature, and neuroplasticity, of the brain.

Should this process continue past this important shift to a point where life continues to be lived as a human being again but now with the absence of suffering, then that too is a result of the neoroplasticity of the brain.

To date the majority of spiritual methodologies have chosen to adopt a story-telling approach to bring about change. The more mystical forms of spiritual methodology tend to be the ones which effect the most significant neural structure changes because they present such a radically different description of life. Story-telling is a highly effective way of bringing about specific changes, however it's chosen and effective because of a certain set of capabilities of the listening mind (maybe more to the point, story telling is used because of a lack of certain capabilities of the listening mind).

By the very nature of these teachings (story-telling, eg life is all a creation in God's mind etc) it's quite evident that there isn't much faith in the critical thinking capacity of seekers. This may well have been a correct assessment, and a quick look around today still confirms that for the vast majority of people there is a critical thinking disability. So story telling is most appropriate.

Quite frankly, at its core, we could sum up the existing design which supports the presence of suffering as a lack of critical thinking. So it's a bit ironic that the teachings that get us out of that space are in themselves devoid of critical thought (except in their conception).

So clearly, with a bit of critical thinking we can conclude that it's a process, and even though in the end it's the ability to think critically that dissolves suffering, along the way critical thought teachings may be inappropriate.

I'm quite convinced however, that there is now a growing niche of seekers who have the capacity to process spiritual instruction that is constructed differently.

The upcoming Satsang Tour in India and especially the 3 Week Retreat in April will focus on laying a foundational explanation that will reframe what spiritual seeking is really inspired by, and about. This foundational explanation is something a seeker must keep coming back to to avoid getting lost in what follows. Seeking, whether we realise it or not, is about unbroken peace of mind in daily living for the human being.

Within the bounds of this foundational explanation we will together toggle between two distinct explorations.

1) inducing a shift in perception (by rewiring the neural connections through verbal cues and a series of perception exercises that can then start to kick in automatically and effortlessly as you move through your day).

This shift of perception in effect results in the establishment of a new viewing platform, and this new vantage point is crucial in allowing an effortless and detached exploration of one's inner landscape which from the default viewing platform, is simply unavailable.

Importantly, this shift also serves to finally enable a periodic dropping out of thinking into our innate Beingness (what a relief), this is key in the reshaping of the existing brain structure.

2) the framework of non-doership and non-attachment to outcomes.

Without this framework it's most likely that even with the shift in perception the ingrained beliefs will remain ingrained and will kick in and disturb the peace whenever life delivers painful circumstance. Over time this reveals itself to be a false freedom because it lacks consistency.

These two explorations have been traditionally hard to marry because the story used to bring about the first shift (awakening) was one of non-causality, non-separation and the abating of any thinking. This approach is not so compatible with the second area of exploration which is a reintegration into practical daily living where an objective assessment and understanding of the belief dynamics that underpin the ingrained beliefs of doership and attachment must take place (and it's not the experience of separation that's the problem).

This exploration requires a receptivity to conceptual based wisdom explanations which rely on an acceptance of duality, a person and causality.

So, in conclusion, our brain needs to be rewired to bring about a STOP, and then in the availability of that space, ingrained beliefs must get seen and undone.

In the upcoming events I hope to introduce more explorations focused on the shift of perception within a context that then seamlessly complements the framework of non-doership which many of you are familiar with.

Please join me, I would really like to share all this with as many as possible - it's our birth-right and it's a blessing in life.

New Year's Resolution Challenge

June 7, 2020
January 1, 2020

If you're not sure about this resolution thing, then why not consider this one as a possible compromise:

I resolve to, in 2020, completely abstain from thinking, feeling or behaving in ways which are out-of-line with my genes and up-to-date conditioning (one's very complex impersonal makeup in that moment), and commit to only think, feel or act in strict accordance to my genes and up-to-date conditioning.

I feel you all succeeding wholeheartedly already. 😉

Absence of Suffering New Year to you all.
